1ST CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT CANDIDATES FORUM

Hi All,
There are currently five declared Republican candidates for Congress representing the 1st district who have committed to attending this event. Again, all of these candidates are seeking the opportunity to go head-to-head against Democrat Carol Shea-Porter for her congressional seat in Washington, DC. Only one of these candidates will get the opportunity to face Shea-Porter because first they must face each other in the September 14th Primary to determine who will be challenging Shea-Porter. This Forum is a great opportunity for you to determine (or to validate) who you should be voting for in the September primary.
The following Republican candidates will be participating in this event:

Each candidate will be given an opportunity to answer the same questions so that you'll be able to compare the candidates on the many issues that our country is facing. To make this more interesting, I'm asking you to reply to this email, sending the questions that you would like to see the candidates answer. Rest assured, the candidates will NOT have access to the questions in advance. Since all of the candidates will be asked to answer the same question, the questions that you send should be specific enough to be related to issues and topics that candidates for Congress would encounter, while at the same time they must be relevant to ALL of the candidates. For example, questions such as "how would you have voted on a particular bill in the House of Representatives" WOULD be appropriate. However, questions such as asking a candidate about something specific that they did while serving in another capacity would NOT necessarily be appropriate for any of the other candidates to answer, and therefore would not be asked of any of the candidates. All appropriate questions will be placed in a hat, and will be drawn from the hat by the candidates themselves. The question, and the name of the author of the question, will be read out loud, and then each candidate will answer the question. If we run out of questions, and there's still time, we will entertain questions from the floor.
